Wivelsfield Primary School and Nursery is looking for an enthusiastic Leader of Outdoor Learning and Forest School for approximately 9 hours /week. The pattern of working hours is negotiable. If you have a love of the outdoors and enjoy working with children, this could be the job for you.

Situated in the heart of Wivelsfield Green, near both Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill, the school is single form entry, with a nursery. The school benefits from spacious modern premises with extensive grounds, including a dedicated forest school area, pond, gardening plots and access to adjoining fields.

Ideally, you would hold a recognised Forest School qualification, but if you are interested in this role and still in training, we would welcome your application. In addition to the advertised hours, there may be further work available leading some sessions for our nursery children and, if you are qualified, you could run an after-school club and some holiday activities on site as a freelance provider.

Please call the school: 01444 471393 if you need further information or have any questions about the role. There are also details in the job description and person specification which can be found in our application pack on our website: www.wivelsfield.org.

Interviews: End of January

This post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018.

The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.
