The opportunity

AJW Group are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to support our catering operations and provide an excellent service to all employees. This role plays an important part in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming food environment while helping to increase engagement across the team.

      • Clean and sanitise all food preparation areas in line with hygiene standards.

      • Wash and correctly store cooking appliances, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes.

      • Assist with preparing ingredients, including washing, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruit, vegetables, meat, and poultry.

      • Sweep and mop kitchen floors and wipe down kitchen walls.

      • Unload delivered food supplies and ensure they are stored correctly.

      • Organize and maintain food storage areas to ensure safe and efficient use.

      • Transfer ingredients promptly from storage areas to the kitchen as needed.

      • Maintain cleanliness across all catering facilities in line with food hygiene requirements.

      • Collect and deliver items around the building when required by the business.

About you

      • Experience working in a similar role.

      • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and clear communication skills.

      • A positive, approachable manner with a willingness to support the wider team.

      • Ability to work independently while consistently delivering high‑quality work.
