We’re looking for a creative and dynamic Learning and Enrichment coordinator to help support teachers in advancing the young people’s learning in more dynamic ways.“Our vision is to provide exceptional care, learning and support to the children placed at Lansdowne Secure Children’s Home, and facilitate their successful resettlement back into the community. We will achieve this through providing an enthusiastic and empathic staff team with an exceptionally well-resourced home that offers a modern, light, nurturing environment, complimented by a first-rate training and development programme. Above all else we will show kindness, and strive for children placed at Lansdowne to feel safe and loved”.

You will achieve this by planning and delivering the enrichment programme in term time and school holidays, you will also be integral to supporting the careers programme and delivering interventions on a 1:1 basis with young people. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues across the home, by offering their specialised knowledge and experience in behaviour management and child development. Due to the challenging environment of this role, you’ll also need to have resilience and the ability to work in a reflective and trauma-informed way.

We are looking for candidates who:

    • Have the ability to provide creative and engaging learning opportunities for children.
    • Have specialist knowledge and experience e.g. in behaviour management, pastoral care, early years, special educational needs or individual subject areas.
    • Have knowledge of a range of strategies to establish a purposeful learning environment and to promote good behaviour.
    • Have knowledge of the key factors that affect the way pupils learn.
    • Have experience of working with vulnerable children or young people.

It is vital that all staff fully understand and undertake their role with professionalism and in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedures. We take our safeguarding responsibilities extremely seriously and expect those working with our children to maintain high standards of vigilance, respect, reporting and professional curiosity at all times. You will be given extensive training and ongoing support to fully undertake this part of your role and as such will be held to high standards to help keep children safe.
