As Payroll & Pensions Officer, you will support the effective administration of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. You will provide expert guidance on pensions matters, work closely with colleagues, employers, and external bodies, and help deliver a high-quality service to scheme members. This role offers the opportunity to develop specialist LGPS knowledge, contribute to public service, and play a vital role in safeguarding employees’ long-term financial security

We are looking for candidates who:

    • Can use spreadsheets, office-based systems, and payroll administration software (Oracle/SAP or equivalent)
    • Can perform and explain complex calculations and pension scheme rules in an easily understandable manner
    • An awareness of Pension Scheme regulations and an understanding of the reporting regime and consequence of non-compliance
    • Experience of working within a payroll team or transactional service environment
    • Ability to work calm under pressure and adaptable to change
