The role is responsible for managing and optimising the SEBL IT delivery portfolio to enable both operational excellence and strategic outcomes. You will provide clear delivery guidance and assurance across a diverse portfolio of projects and programmes, ensuring they are delivered to agreed quality, time and cost standards in line with best practice and the SE delivery framework. A key focus of the role is driving portfolio efficiency, transparency and alignment to IT and business strategy, with a strong emphasis on outcomes, benefits and OKRs.

You will provide leadership, line management and coaching to a team of project and programme managers, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting the development of delivery capability across the organisation. Working closely with senior stakeholders, PMO, and external vendors, you will shape new IT demand, manage risks and dependencies, resolve delivery blockers, and ensure effective governance and reporting. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong stakeholder engagement, pragmatic portfolio management, and the ability to balance demand, capacity and resources across a complex and evolving change landscape.

What skills/experience do I need to be successful?

    • Proven experience delivering complex and large-scale IT projects and programmes, including team leadership across multiple concurrent initiatives;

    • Strong track record in project assurance, governance and control across interdependent projects, applying adaptive and pragmatic delivery approaches;

    • Demonstrated ability to assess project feasibility and successfully lead planning, approval and mobilisation of large-scale change initiatives;

    • Proven people leadership experience, managing and developing teams to drive improved performance and delivery outcomes;

    • Extensive experience managing IT vendors and building effective, value-driven delivery partnerships.
