Principal Transport Schemes Officer

Do you want to be part of a team delivering local transport improvements in communities across East Sussex? In this role you will make a real difference to the ways in which our residents and visitors access local services and attractions, by delivering schemes that encourage more sustainable, active journeys and, in doing so, support the local economy and reduce carbon emissions.

You’ll join a team working to identify, prioritise and develop schemes that support our Local Transport Plan objectives. You’ll work with internal teams, external partners and stakeholders to deliver improvements ranging from road crossings through to cycle routes.

We are looking for someone with:

• a wide interest in transport including active travel modes
• the ability to organise, manage and effectively prioritise a challenging workload
• the ability to work on your own initiative and within a team environment
• effective communication skills in varied settings
