Role Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Head Chef to develop exciting, innovative menus that maintain the Shark Club's commitment to culinary excellence
- Supervise, manage and train kitchen staff to ensure optimal productivity and excellent food quality
- Maintain strict adherence to food hygiene and health and safety regulations, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards
- Closely manage food and labour costs while ensuring adequate supply and quality of ingredients
- Ensure a safe, positive working environment that encourages teamwork and fosters creativity
Qualifications and Skills
- Significant experience in a culinary leadership role, ideally as a Sous Chef, in a busy restaurant or hotel environment
- A culinary education is preferred but not essential
- A True passion for food and cooking
- Superior knowledge of food health and safety regulations
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to nurture a positive workplace culture
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and lead by example
- Strong understanding of budget management, food and labour cost controls
