Position Overview:
The Supply Director – Inventory Europe is responsible for the strategic leadership and oversight of AEG’s European jet fuel inventory and supplier portfolio. This role owns supplier relationships, inventory strategy, and contractual performance across the region, ensuring security of supply, cost optimization, and alignment with AEG’s commercial growth objectives. Acting as the senior escalation point for supplier matters, the Supply Director partners closely with internal commercial, operations, and finance teams to deliver resilient, scalable, and efficient supply solutions across Europe.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the European inventory and supplier strategy in support of AEG’s growth, margin, and risk management objectives.
- Establish and maintain senior-level relationships with multinational, regional, and local fuel suppliers, logistics providers, into-plane agents, and tank farm operators.
- Own the end-to-end understanding of the European supply chain, including product sourcing, logistics, storage, on-airport inventory management, and into-plane services.
- Identify and implement opportunities to optimize inventory positioning, supply redundancy, and cost efficiency across the region.
- Serve as AEG’s senior point of contact for supplier portfolio management and contractual matters in Europe.
- Lead negotiations and execution of commercial agreements, including pricing structures, credit terms, inventory commitments, and service level agreements.
- Ensure supplier contracts are aligned with AEG’s operational requirements and customer commitments.
- Act as final escalation and resolution owner for supplier disputes and performance issues within the assigned portfolio.
- Define, monitor, and analyze supplier and logistics KPIs, including inventory performance, haulage efficiency, service reliability, and cost controls. • Lead quarterly and annual supplier performance reviews, driving continuous improvement initiatives and corrective action plans as required.
- Ensure compliance with internal governance standards, contractual obligations, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Partner with commercial, flight operations, finance, and risk teams to support customer growth, pricing strategies, and supply assurance.
- Provide strategic guidance and operational oversight to regional supply and inventory management teams.
- Support process design and system enhancements to improve visibility, reporting, and decision-making across inventory and supply operations.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and complete flow of operational and commercial data between suppliers and AEG.
- Leverage data analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities related to inventory, supplier performance, and logistics costs.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives, innovation, and best practices across European supply operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, or procurement roles within downstream oil & gas or aviation fuels.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex supplier portfolios and inventory strategies in a European or international context.
- Strong commercial acumen with proven contract negotiation and supplier management expertise.
- Experience operating in fast-paced, 24/7 logistics or trading environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong interest in data analytics and performance reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; additional European languages are a strong advantage.
