This role is a maternity cover, working full-time over an initial 15–18 month period. We’re looking for someone to start in January 2026 to allow a detailed and collaborative handover.

We’re now looking for a Tax Manager to join our Finance team - a crucial role in ensuring MPB’s tax operations and compliance are robust, efficient, and ready for the next stage of growth.
As a senior member of the Finance function, you’ll take ownership of MPB’s tax affairs across all markets and legal entities. You’ll play a key part in shaping and implementing our tax strategy - ensuring people, processes, and systems are fit to meet SME tax requirements in the UK, the US, and Germany.
You’ll work closely with the VP of Finance and CFO, as well as external advisors, to manage corporate, operational, and indirect taxes, lead tax compliance cycles, and support MPB’s preparation for future strategic transactions.
Manage and assist with operational taxes, including VAT, US Sales Tax, and Payroll Taxes
Implement and oversee MPB’s corporate tax strategy, working with external advisors where necessary
Maintain and implement transfer pricing agreements across markets
Lead tax compliance cycles for multiple entities and manage UK R&D tax claims
Oversee the Group’s tax compliance and risk profile, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop effective tax planning strategies aligned to MPB’s operational structure
Manage tax audits and inspections
Accurately forecast tax liabilities and reclaims
Contribute to ad hoc tax and finance projects, supporting the wider Finance team
You’re a qualified tax professional with hands-on experience managing tax matters within a multi-company, multi-currency environment. You bring technical expertise, commercial acumen, and the ability to make complex tax topics accessible to non-specialists.

ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified
Experience in a multi-company, multi-currency group (ideally with US and/or German subsidiaries)
A strong understanding of international tax laws and compliance
Excellent attention to detail, process improvement skills, and ability to meet strict deadlines
Advanced Excel skills and data fluency
A proactive self-starter who enjoys solving problems and working collaboratively
Commercial awareness and an understanding of how tax strategy supports business success
