We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed teacher of Geography. The appointed person will be joining a successful department and faculty within the school. This is a perfect career opportunity to join a high performing school with a commitment to career development which would be very suitable for an ambitious teacher at the start of their career as well as a more experienced candidate.
The successful candidate will be someone who is dedicated, enthusiastic and able to plan and deliver inspiring and exciting learning experiences for our KS3 and KS4 students. Our goal is to equip all our young people with the knowledge, tools and literary understanding to broaden their own horizons, encouraging them to question and explore the world for themselves.
The Geography department is a consistently well-performing department consisting of teachers with a vast array of experience. The department is highly cohesive and is an enjoyable, exciting place to work. Regardless of past levels of success, the striving for excellence never stops. All pupils currently follow a sequenced curriculum that creates a core foundation for academic theory, practical geographical applications and geographical writing in preparation for their GCSE years. Willingdon currently follows AQA Geography 8035 specification at GCSE level. The ability to drive excellent outcomes and provide purposeful, engaging GCSE lessons is essential for the successful candidate.
