We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and inclusive Federation Sports Coach to work across our primary school Federation.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Federation PE Lead to support the delivery of high-quality PE and school sport, helping to inspire pupils to enjoy physical activity and develop healthy, active lifestyles.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about primary PE and sport and enjoys working with children of all abilities in a supportive, team-focused environment.

You may occasionally be asked to support after-school sporting competitions and events. On these days, working hours can be adjusted to accommodate this.

Key responsibilities

    • Support the Federation PE Lead in the delivery of a broad, balanced and inclusive PE curriculum across Federation schools
    • Assist with the planning and delivery of high-quality PE lessons in line with the National Curriculum
    • Support and help coordinate sporting events, competitions and tournaments, both within the Federation and externally
    • Play an active role in the organisation and delivery of Sports Week and other enrichment activities
    • Promote positive attitudes towards physical activity, teamwork and fair play
    • Support the development of pupils’ physical, social and emotional wellbeing
    • Ensure safe practice at all times, following school policies, risk assessments and health & safety guidance
    • Work effectively with staff across the Federation to support consistency and progression in PE

The successful candidate will have

    • Experience of working with primary-aged children in a sports or PE setting
    • A strong understanding of inclusive practice and adapting activities to meet a range of needs and abilities
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
    • A positive, enthusiastic and flexible approach
    • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

    • A qualification in PE or sport (e.g., A-level in PE, BTEC in Sport, or equivalent)
    • Experience working with primary-aged children in a sports or PE setting

Desirable:

    • Coaching qualifications in specific sports (e.g., FA Level 1/Level 2 for football, etc.)
    • At least 2 years’ experience coaching children in a specific sport
