Description

Falcon Coffees, established in 2008, is a UK coffee trading company with offices and representation in ten countries across Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia. We are a diverse group of people comprising 21 nationalities with over 20 languages spoken. We source coffee from 20 producing origins on behalf of 1300 roasters around the world. Core to our business model is delivering positive socio-economic impact in the communities we work with and shared environmental stewardship.

As we reach 100 employees across 7 different offices around the world, we are excited to be seeking an experienced and values-driven Human Resources (HR) Manager to establish and lead the HR function in the business, a new position where the Senior Leadership Team have previously held the HR function themselves.

This is an exciting opportunity as first dedicated HR professional for this company.

The role offers a unique opportunity to design and implement the company’s HR framework from the ground up.

The HR Manager will be a trusted partner to leadership and employees across multiple locations. While initially operating individually, there will be scope to build and develop an HR team as the company expands.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations and Engagement 
    • Serve as the primary HR contact for employees globally, fostering a workplace across all offices that is aligned with the company culture. 
    • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations, performance management and conflict resolution, always with empathy and respect. 
    • Design and deliver initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, wellbeing and alignment with the company’s mission. 
Performance and Development 
    • Lead the performance management cycle, including goal setting, feedback and development planning, ensuring these processes encourage growth and reinforce our shared values.
    • Create and implement learning and development opportunities that support both professional excellence and personal growth.
    • Partner with leaders to identify high-potential employees and build succession plans that preserve our culture and purpose.
 Compensation and Benefits 
    • Develop and oversee competitive and fair compensation and benefits programmes across multiple regions.
    • Conduct regular market analysis to ensure our practices remain equitable, sustainable and consistent with our values.
 Policy, Compliance and Risk Management 
    • Create and maintain HR policies and procedures that are legally compliant to the jurisdiction and culturally aligned with our values. 
    • Monitor compliance with employment laws and regulations in all countries of operation. 
    • Advise leadership on HR-related legal and regulatory issues. 
 Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning 
    • Design and manage the end-to-end recruitment including writing of Job Descriptions, listing roles, tracking candidates and screening CVs for manager approval to identify individuals aligned with the company’s culture.
    • Own the onboarding process for new starters and offboarding for leavers including contracts of employment. 
    • Manage the company HRIS system.
Strategic HR Leadership 
    • In the early stages, overall HR strategy and planning will continue to be led by the senior leadership team. 
    • Work in close partnership with senior leaders to provide operational HR insight and recommendations on workforce planning, talent management, and organisational design, ensuring all initiatives reflect our mission and values. 
    • As the role evolves, take on increasing responsibility for shaping and executing the global HR strategy, with a focus on sustaining and strengthening our values-driven culture. 
    • Help define HR best practices that support both our values and the long-term success of the business. 


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

    • Significant experience in a senior HR generalist or standalone HR manager role, ideally with exposure to multi-country responsibilities. 
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage people.. 
    • The ability to adapt working across different cultures and areas of the globe as well as flexibility across time zones. 
    • Preferably a Spanish speaker. 
    • Strong knowledge of international employment law and HR best practices. 
    • Demonstrated success in building or shaping HR functions and influencing senior stakeholders. 
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or HR certification such as CIPD, SHRM, or equivalent is preferred).
